George Anthony: Casey Anthony's Father Reacts To Her Interview With AP

Casey Anthony, the woman who was acquitted of murdering her daughter Caylee Anthony in 2011, spoke about the case for the first time during an interview with the Associated Press, and her father George Anthony wasn’t thrilled about what she had to say. Caylee Anthony, who was two years old at the time of her murder, was reportedly last seen on June 16, 2008, but she wasn’t reported missing until the following month. At the time, Casey reportedly said that her daughter had been taken by the babysitter, however that later turned out to be one of Casey’s many lies. Casey Anthony on life after acquittal: ‘I sleep pretty good at night’ — Fox News (@FoxNews) March 7, 2017 On Dec. 11, a utility worker discovered skeletal remains, which were determined to be Caylee’s, not far from the Anthony’s home. Although experts testified that human remains had been in Casey’s trunk of her vehicle, they couldn’t determine how exactly she died. The trial lasted a month and a half, but it only took the jury 11 hours to find Casey Anthony not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse. She was instead convicted of four counts of lying to police, and only served three years in prison while she awaited her trial. It’s been nearly nine years since Caylee’s murder, and Casey still insists she doesn’t know what happened to her daughter. Casey Anthony judge: She probably killed her daughter — by accident — CNN Breaking News (@cnnbrk) March 2, 2017 “Caylee would be 12 right now. And would be a total badass,” Anthony said, during an exclusive interview with the AP.“I’d like to think she’d be listening to classic rock, playing sports, and putting up with no nonsense.” She added: “I’m still not even certain as I stand here today about what happened. Everyone has their theories; I don’t know. As I stand here today I can’t tell you one way or another. The last time I saw my daughter I believed she was alive and was going to be OK, and that’s what was told to me.” “Even if I would’ve told them everything that I told to the psychologist, I hate to say this but I firmly believe I would have been in the same place. Because cops believe other cops. Cops tend to victimize the victims. I understand now… I see why I was treated the way I was even had I been completely truthful. Cops lie to people every day. I’m just one of the unfortunate idiots who admitted they lied. My dad was a cop, you can read into that what you want to.” As far as being considered “the most hated mother in America,” a name given to her by Nancy Grace, Casey said she doesn’t care what anyone has to say about her. “I don’t give a s— about what anyone thinks about me, I never will,” she said. “I’m OK with myself, I sleep pretty good at night.” Not long after her interview surfaced, Casey’s parents, George and Cindy Anthony, released a statement, via their attorney, according to People Magazine. Casey Anthony: “I sleep pretty good at night.”

He has specifically stated that ‘his heart hurts even more now.’ ” [Featured Image by Pool/ Getty Images]

War Machine, Christy Mack Attempted Murder Trial Begins, 911 Call Heard In Court

A former MMA fighter, known as ‘War Machine,’ is currently on trial for attempted murder. The chilling 911 call made by his ex-girlfriend Christy Mack after she was attacked was heard in court on Tuesday. War Machine— born Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver— allegedly stormed into porn actress Christine Mackinday’s, better known as Christy Mack, Las Vegas home and severely beat her and her boyfriend at the time, Corey Thomas, while they were in bed. Headed to San Francisco first thing in the morning to attend the #GoldClubSFVR launch party presented by #VRClubZ! Hope to see some of you there! A post shared by Christy Mack (@christymack) on Feb 27, 2017 at 10:08am PST The former mixed martial arts fighter, who goes by War Machine, was painted as a volatile, murderous man who found his girlfriend sleeping with another man in her bedroom and attacked her. While Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver’s lawyer did not deny the opening statement that the prosecutor made in court, but he characterized both Christy Mac and War Machine as “two damaged people,” according to My San Antonio. War Machine’s defense attorney described the former couple as two people who both had an adopted public name, deep-rooted image insecurities, and a co-dependent relationship that revolved around sex, constant attention, and internet personas. “It was a co-dependency that was bound to erupt at some time.” A frantic 911 call made by Chrissy Mack was played in court on Tuesday, detailed the horrific August 2014 attack. My mom made us all matching pj’s for Christymas ???? A post shared by Christy Mack (@christymack) on Dec 25, 2016 at 8:49am PST The trial, which began on Monday, March 6, unveiled new details about the vicious attack that left Christy Mack’s then-boyfriend Corey Thomas fearing for his life. According to News 3 Las Vegas, Thomas said he was ” looking up at the ceiling thinking to myself ‘I’m going to die in Christy’s bathroom.’ That’s not how I’m going out.” Thomas claimed that the attack ended when he told War Machine, “You gotta kill me, or you gotta let me go.” The attack left Thomas with a broken nose, bite marks on his face, and a dislocated shoulder. Corey Thomas: This is a photo of myself after the fight in the bathroom. I took the photo myself. I had to clean up & see how bad it is. — Adam Herbets (@AdamHerbets) March 6, 2017 Christy Mack could be heard on the 911 call recording screaming at War Machine to stop, worried that he was on the verge of killing one of them. After letting Thomas go, War Machine reportedly turned his anger towards Mack and repeatedly hit her for two hours. Koppenhaver then allegedly said to Mack, “This is it. I’ve got to kill you now.” Christy Mack managed to escape from him when he went to the kitchen to get a knife. She then ran from the house naked and began banging on neighbors’ doors until someone let her in. The former porn star suffered a fractured nose, lacerated liver, missing teeth, fractured eye socket, and injuries to her leg. 2 days, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and last night.  I’ve had several dentist visits to make eating more comfortable and make my smile look more normal. I still have a few more dental visits to go. I’ve had my eyes checked out and made aware that I’m very lucky to have my vision where it is, since the muscle is tethered by the fragments from the blowout fracture in my left eye. My multiple nose fractures will be fixed in the next couple of months. While they’re fairly symmetrical, my nose is shifted on the inside and out causing breathing issues. (I also make everyone feel how my bone sticks out on the left side because it feels so weird.) My top lip will regain movement in less than 6 months… looking forward to using straws again.  My liver seems to be alright. I was admitted back to the hospital shortly after I was released the first time for some minor treatment, but I did not have to have surgery. While my face is starting to look decent again from the swelling going down, it is still not my own. Cutting what was left of my hair off, and losing 15 lbs(it’s a lot when you’re 5’1″) made me feel even further away from myself. It’s hard to look in the mirror every day and see someone you do not know. After having makeup done and dressing up for yesterday’s charity event, I felt much better about how I look now. It made me feel more normal, and beautiful for the first time in a very long time. The event that I went to was for Face Forward. A non profit charity that funds surgeries for women and children that have been in horrible situations that require them to have reconstructive surgery. They are not funding me, my surgeries are being donated by other doctors. I met many wonderful people and look forward to working more with them in the future. A post shared by Christy Mack (@christymack) on Sep 14, 2014 at 10:56am PDT Chief Deputy District Attorney Jacqueline Bluth said in court on Tuesday that Koppenhaver used to physically abuse Mack pretty regularly throughout their tumultuous relationship. However, War Machine’s defense attorney Leiderman claimed that Mack often shared “rape fantasies” with Koppenhaver and that the relationship was only headed toward destruction. Sometimes half of your temp teeth decide to fall out to match the rest of your face. Thanks to Dr. Motykie for fixing the damage to my nose, and Dr. Adam Lousignont of Las Vegas for the temp tooth fix… again. Left was Monday right is today. What a difference a few days makes! I’m starting to breathe out of my nose again and today I’m going to get my glasses. One day soon I’ll be going to New York to see Dr. Toscano and get my permanent teeth. A post shared by Christy Mack (@christymack) on Oct 10, 2014 at 10:50am PDT War Machine’s highly anticipated trial for attempted murder against Christy Mack is expected to last a few weeks. Koppenhaver pleaded not guilty to all 34 felony charges against him, including kidnapping, attempted murder, and multiple counts of sexual assault. If convicted, the former MMA fighter could spend life in prison without parole. [Featured Image by Handout/Getty Images]

After NSA, WikiLeaks Reveals Alleged CIA Hacking Tools For Cyber Espionage.

WikiLeaks recently released details of CIA’s covert program about hacking or cyber attack as part of a series of seven installments briefly summarized as the biggest leak of intelligence in history. WikiLeaks, led by Julian Assange, had planned a press conference on the internet to present its Vault 7 project, but later announced on Twitter that the organization’s platforms had been attacked, leading to the conference being canceled. In a statement, the Australian computer programmer, publisher, and journalist stated that this leak is exceptional from a legal, political and forensic perspective. Wikileaks founder Julian Assange releases documents related to CIA’s tools for cyber espionage. [Photo by Carl Court/Getty Images] According to WikiLeaks, the CIA recently lost control of most of its hacking arsenal that the agency employs in a cyber war, including malware, viruses, Trojans, remote malware systems, and associated documentation among others. Assange warned that the arsenal is now in the hands of hackers, who would be marketing the material. The Wikileaks founder reveals that “there is an extreme risk of proliferation in the race accelerated by cyber war,” resulting from the inability of security agencies to control them once they have created them and their “high market value.” This extraordinary collection, which the group claims amounts to more than several hundred million lines of codes, “gives its possessor all the CIA’s hacking ability,” sources claim. The file appears to have been distributed among former hackers and contractors of the US government in an unauthorized manner, one of whom has provided WikiLeaks with portions of the file. The leak shows the scope and direction of the CIA’s global covert piracy program, its arsenal of malware against a wide range of products from US and European companies, including Apple iPhone, Google Android, Microsoft Windows, or The Samsung TVs, also known as Smart TVs, which become concealed microphones. These devices can become concealed microphones using software supposedly made in collaboration with the British MI5. The Vault 7 series premiered today with the chapter Year Zero, covering a period from 2013 to 2016. The first installment, according to the organization, “already eclipses the total of pages published in the first three years of revelations about the NSA by Edward Snowden.” The organization further revealed that the Frankfurt Consulate is the cybernetic base of operations in Europe for the alleged covert CIA program. WikiLeaks argues that the CIA has been increasing its cybercrime capabilities to rival, with even less transparency, with the NSA, the other U.S. security agency. Upon these revelations, the CIA has not wanted to position itself. Its spokesman, Jonathan Liu, has expressed that “we do not comment on the authenticity or the content of supposed intelligence documents.” The portal says that in disseminating all this documentation, it has taken care not to distribute “cybernetic weapons” until a consensus is reached regarding the political and technical nature of the CIA program as to how such ‘weapons’ should be analyzed and deactivated. Julian Assange directed the broadcast of Vault 7 from his residence in the embassy of Ecuador, where he took refuge on June 19, 2012, to avoid his extradition to Sweden, where he is charged with the sexual offense that he denies. Julian Assange speaks from the balcony of the Ecuadorian embassy where he continues to seek asylum following an extradition request from Sweden. [Photo by Carl Court/Getty Images] Assange’s platform said that this is the biggest leak in CIA history, although the biggest one suffered by the United States in recent history was precisely that of the 2010 diplomatic and military documents, which made Wikileaks a global phenomenon and thus resulted in a 35-year sentence for the military analyst Chelsea Manning (then Bradley), who stole and entered the information. What has been revealed, however, is at the height of a great scandal like the one provoked by Edward Snowden, the security analyst who pronounced the massive electronic espionage of States and lives protected in Moscow. In the last days of his presidency, Barack Obama decided to commute the sentence Manning, which supposed a great controversy. At the end of 2016, US intelligence agencies accused Moscow of orchestrating an espionage campaign during the recently concluded presidential election, but of a very different caliber, as they accused the Kremlin of filtering private party emails and spread false news, among other strategies, in order to degrade the candidacy of Hillary Clinton and favor the arrival of Donald Trump to power. This episode pitted Trump, then-president-elect, against his own espionage services, which undercut credibility. After the inauguration, on January 20, once in the White House, the confrontation returned when the press published the connections of members of his team with Moscow. Tuesday’s revelations, if confirmed, will give Trump a good chance to insist that the intelligence agency is plagued by snitches who do not take good care of confidential information. Trumpcare vs Iphone 7 – You Have to Choose One, Says GOP Congressman

Trumpcare means that you can’t have your Iphone and your healthcare too, says one GOP Congressman. This was the angering declaration made by Republican Jason Chaffez during a CNN interview on Tuesday. Chaffetz was asked whether Trumpcare’s reduced tax incentives and limited focus on individual mandate will cause less people to have healthcare in the United States. “Well, we’re getting rid of the individual mandate. We’re getting rid of those things that people said that they don’t want.” Chaffetz said before launching into the choice that Americans have in Trump’s America. GOP Rep. Chaffetz: Americans may need to choose between “new iphone… they just love” and investing in health care — New Day (@NewDay) March 7, 2017 “And you know what? Americans have choices, and they’ve gotta make a choice,” he said. “And so maybe rather than getting that new iPhone that they just love and they want to go spend hundreds of dollars on that, maybe they should invest in their own health care. They’ve gotta make those decisions themselves.” As Think Progress notes, you cant compare the cost of healthcare and the cost of a new Iphone. The cost of an Iphone 7 is roughly $700 without a contract. The Department Of Health and Human Services reported last year that the cost of healthcare had risen to approximately $10,000 per person. Forty-eight percent of Americans support are in favor of removing the penalty mandate and 46% support tax credits that are age based. Chaffetz is the chair of the House oversight committee. Despicable: Daycare Worker Sarah Gable Pushes 4-Year-Old Down Stairs [Video]

Seemingly, Sarah Gables let out her frustration on a 4-year-old — a child whose parents trusted her supervision. And, it’s all on video. Things aren’t looking too good for this former Upper Darby, Pennsylvania daycare worker. After footage was released of 52-year-old Sarah Gable mistreating one of the children, the community is in an uproar. Heart breaking 2 see the evil Daycare worker #SarahGable shoving child down steps — Buzzkill (@JustAnotherFunk) March 7, 2017 The incident happened at Childcare of the Future, on the 700 block of Secane Avenue in Primos — around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, March 3. The video captures the daycare worker as she enters into the stairway behind the child. As the 4-year-old begins to descend the steps, Sarah Gable forcefully pushes her down a flight and into the wall. The child doesn’t immediately get up. And, in the the same moment Gable realizes her troubles, she looks directly into the newly-installed camera above her. You can see the instant worry on the daycare worker’s face as she turns to “help” the child down the stairs. Given the photo clarity, she may as well had said “Cheese!” .@UDPolice : Day care worker charged, video shows child pushed down steps — The Morning Call (@mcall) March 7, 2017 By the time she reaches the bottom of the stairway, another daycare worker is there to meet her. If you’re interested in the video, you can watch it below. .@UDPolice arrest day care worker accused of shoving 4-year-old girl down stairs: — NBC10 Philadelphia (@NBCPhiladelphia) March 6, 2017 Actually, the person at the bottom of the steps was daycare administrator Shawayne Tavares. According to ABC News – Philadelphia, the daycare camera had been installed only moments before the incident occurred. And, Tavares happened to be monitoring its footage at the time Sarah Gable pushed the 4-year-old. Tavares notes the following statements. “I was so upset. It just hurt me. We don’t treat children here like that. So, it was like, ‘Why would you do that? Why would you push a child down the steps.’ And the way she did it was just so carelessly as if she’d been doing it.” According to NBC 10 – Philadelphia, Tarvares also states that the daycare worker attempted to lie as she walked down the steps with the child. “She picked up the shoe and tried to come to the end of the stairs like, ‘Oh, it was her shoe’,” says Tarvares. “I’m like, ‘It’s not her shoe. I saw you. I just watched you on camera do it’.” The child suffered a knee injury but was still able to return to the school the following class day. There’s no information regarding whether the camera’s installation was the effect of ongoing complaints about Sarah Gable. However, Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood had this to say about the situation. “When parents give their kids to daycare centers, the expectation is that their children are going to be taken care of.” Upper Darby Police Department also tweeted various thanks for the community’s support in making them knowledgeable of this story. “Thanks for bringing awareness to what we consider an important story for parents everywhere,” tweets the department. Since the incident occurred, Sarah Gable has been arrested. Officials: Upper Darby daycare worker arrested for pushing child — FOX 29 (@FOX29philly) March 7, 2017 According to ABC News – Philadelphia, the former daycare worker is being charged with the following crimes: simple assault harassment and endangering the welfare of the child. Although, Sarah was arrested and charged, she’s also been released on a $25,000 bond. Since her release, the source has attempted to contact Gable at her residence. ABC makes the following update. “We went to Gable’s home in Folcroft Monday night where a man told us, ‘She’s not available at this time’.” Instead, the press were referred to the daycare worker’s attorney. However, he couldn’t be reached after business hours, says the source. The Inquisitr would love to hear your thoughts regarding former daycare worker Sarah Gable’s actions. Donald Trump Met Russian Ambassador Last April, Lied About It Later, Report Says

Despite his repeated denials that he met with Russian officials during the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump did, in fact, meet with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak as early as April of 2016, and apparently gave Kislyak a front-row seat to a speech Trump then billed as “a major foreign policy address,” a meeting that Trump has denied ever taking place according to media reports Tuesday morning. In fact, the meeting with Kislyak was reported in May of 2016 by both The Wall Street Journal and on the conservative news site Newsmax. But it was mentioned only in passing and received little notice at the time. Newsmax — a site launched in 1998 as one of the early, conservative news outlets online and which was recently named as the third-most-trafficked political site on the internet — published the following paragraph in a May 14, 2016, article headlined, “Putin ‘Pleased’ With Trump.” “But on that same day, Trump met with Sergey Ivanovich Kislyak, Russia’s ambassador to the United States, at a VIP reception along with three other foreign ambassadors.” Russian Ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak. (Image By Cliff Owen/AP Images) A news photograph of Kislyak in attendance at Trump’s April 27, 2016, “major foreign policy address” can be viewed at this link. The Newsmax mention of the meeting was uncovered by a Twitter user, Sarah Kogan, and posted on Monday night. The foreign policy speech, as the headline to the May 2016 Newsmax story implies, was received enthusiastically by the Russian government, including Russian President Vladimir Putin himself. Putin has described Trump as “a brighter person, talented without a doubt.” Trump for his part has repeatedly praised Putin in public, calling him “strong,” “powerful” and “very smart.” The meetings between between Trump and other members of his inner circle and Kislyak or other Russian officials came during a time when, according to United States intelligence agencies as well as press investigations, Russia was actively engaged in a covert cyber-hacking and propaganda campaign designed to tilt the U.S. presidential election toward Trump. Members of congress have called for a special prosecutor to investigate the Trump-Russia contacts, to determine if the Trump campaign actively colluded with the Russian government in the covert operation to, essentially, rig the election in Trump’s favor, while polls show a decisive majority of the American public also wants to see an investigation of the Trump-Russia contacts by a non-partisan special prosecutor. In addition to Trump himself, Kislyak is known to have met in some cases on numerous occasions, with other Trump advisors and political appointees, prior to Trump becoming president. Former Trump National Security Advisor Michael Flynn was forced to resign after revelations about his meetings with Kislyak and his subsequent lies about them were made public. Attorney General Jeff Sessions last week counted himself out of any investigations of the Trump-Russia affair, after it was revealed that he, too, had met repeatedly with Kislyak and then denied the meetings while under oath at his senate confirmation hearings. Donald Trump’s first National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, above, was forced out when it was revealed he lied about meetings with Sergey Kislyak. (AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster) Trump’s own son-in-law who is also a top White House advisor, Jared Kushner, also met secretly with Kislyak — and numerous other members of Trump’s inner circle have also had meetings or in some cases extensive contacts with Russian officials, as documented by The Washington Post in the chart that can be viewed at this link. But Trump and his associates have denied, according to a count by USA Today, on at least 20 occasions that Trump or members of his campaign had contact with Russian officials. But those denials have repeatedly been contradicted by later revelations. MORE DONALD TRUMP COVERAGE FROM THE INQUISITR

Casey Anthony Speaks Out About Caylee Anthony: 'I Sleep Pretty Good At Night'

Casey Anthony is speaking out her daughter Caylee Anthony for the first time since the highly talked about murder trial, in which she was acquitted. Casey, who will turn 31-years-old this month, is breaking her silence on the death of little Caylee, and mystery that still surrounds her passing. According to The Associated Press, Casey Anthony recently opened up to a reporter about her current life, and the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony, who would now be 12-years-old. Caylee, who died when she was 2-years-old, was found in the woods near her grandparents house after she had been missing for several months. Casey, who admits she lied to the police about Caylee’s whereabouts during that time, says she still has no idea what really happened to her daughter, despite using the story that she accidentally drowned as her defense during the trial. “I’m still not even certain as I stand here today about what happened.” The prosecution painted the picture of a careless mother, who killed her daughter, dumped her body, and then resumed her old life while lying to family members about her whereabouts. However, Casey Anthony says she doesn’t care what others think of her. [Image by Joshua Replogle/ AP Photo] “I don’t give a s–t about what anyone thinks about me, I never will. I’m okay with myself; I sleep pretty good at night.” Casey Anthony also reveals that she understands why people have certain feelings towards her, and still believe that she had a hand in killing little Caylee although she was found innocent of the crime. “Based off of what was in the media, I understand the reasons people feel about me. I understand why people have the opinions that they do. Even if I would’ve told them everything that I told to the psychologist, I hate to say this, but I firmly believe I would have been in the same place, because cops believe other cops. Cops tend to victimize the victims. I understand now … I see why I was treated the way I was even had I been completely truthful.” Anthony, who admits to lying to police about things such as her employment, receiving a call from Caylee, and the fact that her daughter was kidnapped by a babysitter, still claims that she has no clue what happened to little Caylee, but reveals that she was told that the toddler was alive and would be okay. “Everyone has their theories; I don’t know. As I stand here today I can’t tell you one way or another. The last time I saw my daughter I believed she was alive and was going to be OK, and that’s what was told to me.” [Image by Joshua Replogle/AP Photo] Meanwhile, retired Florida judge, Belvin Perry, who presided over the Casey Anthony trial, recently spoke out about the case, and revealed that he believes Casey likely killed Caylee accidentally. “The most logical thing that occurred, in my eyesight, based on everything I know about the case, was that (Anthony) did not intentionally kill her daughter,” Perry told WFTV. “I think based upon the evidence, the most logical thing that happened was that she tried to knock her daughter out by the use of chloroform and gave her too much chloroform, which caused her daughter to die.” Casey Anthony is currently living in South Florida at the home of Patrick McKenna, a private detective who was the lead investigator for her defense team. Casey also works for Patrick doing online searches and investigative work. The world may never know what really happened to Caylee Anthony, and Casey’s recent interview seemed to raise more questions than answers. Ben Carson Says Slaves Were Immigrants Who Came To America With A 'Dream'

On Monday, while making his first remarks as the Trump administration’s Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary, Ben Carson sparked uproar when he compared African slaves who came to the U.S. shackled in cargo ships to immigrants who came to the country in search of better opportunities. While addressing HUD employees in Washington, Carson described African American slaves captured, sold and transported to the country against their will as people who arrived in the U.S. with hopes of the American Dream, being immigrants who worked “harder for less.” Ben Carson remarks that “there were other immigrants who came in the bottom of slave ships” — CNN International (@cnni) March 7, 2017 “That’s what America is about, a land of dreams and opportunity,” he said, according to the Washington Post. “There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less. But they, too, had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great grandsons, great granddaughters might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land.” #BenCarson you really think slaves were immigrants? Maybe HUD needs another doctor in the house. @POTUS @realDonaldTrump @WhiteHouse — AnneFrankCenter(US) (@AnneFrankCenter) March 7, 2017 I dont care what year it is, “immigrants and slaves” should not ever be used in the same sentence. #BenCarson #trumpcare #MuslimBan — krystalpystol (@samaYOYO19) March 7, 2017 “And do you know of all the nations in the world, this one, the United States of America, is the only one big enough and great enough to allow all those people to realize their dream,” he continued, according to CNN. His audience did not give any visible reaction to the remarks. A senior HUD official told the Washington Post that the audience interpreted the comments, broadcast live to HUD offices across the country, only as a “heartfelt introduction to the HUD family.” “He was making a point about people who came to this country for a better life for their kids,” the official said. “Nobody in that room put two and two together and came to five. Only the most cynical interpretation would conflate voluntary immigration to this country with involuntary servitude.” But the comments sparked immediate outrage on social media. “OK! Ben Carson….I can’t! Immigrants? In the bottom of slave ship? Muthaf***a, please!” actor Samuel L. Jackson tweeted. ” Samuel L. Jackson blasts Carson for describing slaves as “immigrants”: “Ben Carson…I can’t” — The Hill (@thehill) March 7, 2017 “I keep wanting to say, ‘Man, Ben Carson really is an idiot,’” a social media user tweeted, “but then I remember the whole brain surgeon thing, and now I’m just.” “Every time I think you can’t be any more of a sellout, you outdo yourself.” Ben Carson..please read or watch Roots, most immigrants come here VOLUNTARILY,cant’t really say the same about the slaves..they were stolen — Whoopi Goldberg (@WhoopiGoldberg) March 6, 2017 I guess Ben Carson would call these “luggage.” #NMAAHC — Judy Howard (@JudyHallHoward) March 6, 2017 Ben Carson really said “Slaves were immigrants” – What’s next? Prisoners are volunteers? Concentration camps are diet facilities? — Alex (@yourboy87) March 6, 2017 “Does this look like an immigrant?” another social media user tweeted, adding an image of an African slave being whipped. Several social media users poked fun at the obvious gaffe. One Twitter user suggested that Carson needed a brain transplant. Another posted images of shackles and commented sarcastically about the notion that slaves were “immigrants,” wondering whether the shackles were luggage. Others joked that going by Carson’s reasoning, internment camps could be called “summer retreats” and concentration camps “diet facilities.” Carson reacted to the controversy on Monday evening. He argued on Twitter that a person could be what he termed an “involuntary immigrant.” He suggested that the term “immigrant” could be used to describe slaves because an immigrant is anyone “who comes to live permanently in a foreign country.” I used to think this was a picture of a man beating slaves. What a relief to know it’s a picture of immigrants living the dream.#BenCarson — Nichole (Nikki) (@SkepticNikki) March 7, 2017 He then accused the media of deliberately seeking to twist his words to cause a controversy. But he later appeared to reconsider his definition of slaves as “involuntary immigrants.” He admitted in a Facebook post that immigrants and slaves had “entirely different experiences.” Let’s Inform #BenCarson and 45 the difference between Immigrats & Slaves. Immigrants☞Decide to come 2????????
Slaves☛ Stolen to come 2????????#Resist — Margie #Demforce (@Loca2733Mc) March 7, 2017 “Slaves were ripped from their families and their homes and forced against their will after being sold into slavery by slave traders,” he wrote. “The Immigrants made the choice to come to America. They saw this country as a land of opportunity. In contrast, slaves were forced here against their will and lost all their opportunities. We continue to live with that legacy.” The former Republican presidential candidate has a history of statements about slavery that detractors consider to betray shockingly poor judgment despite having practiced professionally as a distinguished neurosurgeon. #BenCarson said slaves were immigrants. He also thinks 21 million people with health insurance for the first time is worse than slavery: — Bryan Dawson (@BryanDawsonUSA) March 7, 2017 #BenCarson said slaves were immigrants. Like all good fascists, he advocates for government “thought police” monitoring college campuses: — Bryan Dawson (@BryanDawsonUSA) March 7, 2017 During an NBC Meet the Press interview in 2015, Carson compared women who have abortions to slave owners who thought they had the right “do whatever they wanted to that slave.” He also caused a stir in 2015 when he suggested that the Holocaust could have been avoided if Jews were allowed to carry guns. “I think the likelihood of Hitler being able to accomplish his goals would have been greatly diminished if the people had been armed. There’s a reason these dictatorial people take the guns first.” Earlier in 2013, he described the Obama administration’s Affordable Care Act (AKA, ObamaCare) as the “the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery.” [Featured Image by Susana Walsh/AP Images]

Former Trump University Student Wants Out Of $25 Million Settlement, Seeks Trial

On November 18 of last year, Donald Trump attempted to settle a class-action Trump University lawsuit in the hopes of making it quietly go away before he took the oath of office. This, after a University of Utah professor wrote a report titled “Trump University and Presidential Impeachment,” a report noting that actions Donald Trump took with this case could be considered impeachable offenses if found by a court to be fraud and racketeering. Politico reports that yesterday, a former consumer of the business called Trump University filed an objection to the November 18 settlement saying she wants to take the president to court over her individual Trump University case. This opens a new can of very uncomfortable worms for Donald Trump. The lawyer representing Donald Trump in the matter told the New York Daily News, “This is a serious issue.” The former Trump University consumer is single mom Sherri Simpson of Florida. She doesn’t want to be part of the 25 million dollar Trump University settlement and wants to have her day in court. In 2010, Sherri Simpson was looking to make her way in real estate and said she didn’t know much about Trump at the time. But when she was solicited for the “university” she figured his name was synonymous with real estate development. She says she thought, “he would have the best of everything.” She started with a free seminar and was upsold into a three-day seminar. “Everything was an upsell,” she says in this video here. Sherri said in an interview before the election that what she signed up for, didn’t materialize. She wanted someone to hold her hand, or, teach her real estate, and that just didn’t happen. Once she signed up for the big up sell, the $35 thousand dollar Gold Elite program, calls went unanswered and so did emails. “My opinion is that he entered into this university, not with the intent to teach people how to be real estate investors, and entrepreneurs, but to make money.” In Sherri Simpson’s objection to the 25 million dollar settlement filed yesterday in a U.S. District Court in San Diego, Sherri called the Gold Elite program a scam. She also called Donald Trump a “mendacious huckster.” “When Sherri Simpson signed up for the seminars, she did not understand Donald Trump to be a mendacious huckster. She believed him. And yet, there were no hand-picked instructors. There was no mentoring. There were no materials at all that one couldn’t have just grabbed off the internet. It was pure flim-flam – a hoax, a scam.” Lack of real instructors was a serious problem for Trump University students and is among the most common complaints in the class-action suit. The Toronto Star reports that one Canadian couple, going by the name of Dave Ravindra and Rita Bahadur, were alleged instructors of the Canadian branch of the business called Trump University. They held a retreat in Canada called the “Creative Financing” retreat. [Image by Jon Elswick/AP Images] But a joint investigation between The Canadian Press and The Associated Press reveals the couple does have experience with creative financing, as the couple has a long sheet of multiple aliases, bankruptcies, sanctions by security regulators, and lost real estate licenses. Sherry Simpson’s New York based attorney told New York Daily News that “She was fleeced out of $20,000 she could scarcely afford.” Sherri joined the class-action suit against the business known as Trump University because she thought and hoped it would lead to a trial or at the very least, an admission of liability by Donald Trump. But the $25 million settlement would make that all go away, and also make it easier for Donald Trump to enter the presidency without a fraud and racketeering case over his head. Sherri’s lawyer says that she is not willing to settle for any settlement that does not include an admission of liability. Attorneys for Donald Trump allege that Simpson had a chance to opt out of the settlement, but missed the deadline. However, attorneys for the plaintiffs in the class-action suit allege that Sherri’s objection, and any others, should be carefully considered by the federal judges because the plaintiffs were not even offered to negotiate the terms of their own settlement. Occupy Democrats reports that attorney Ben Meisalas says Sherri should not have a problem having her day in court. He said the following on the matter. “These people weren’t even involved in the negotiations, which were done by class attorney and likely the class representative. Having a non-opt out clause in the agreement reeks of collusion and reflects a clear goal of protecting President Trump at the expense of class members….a fraud is a fraud whether you are president or pauper, and victims deserve their day in court.” Federal Judge Curiel will be the one ruling on whether or not Sherri Simpson will have her day in court. He does not have an amicable history with Donald Trump, who issued racist slurs against the judge when a previous Trump University ruling did not go Trump’s way. Donald Trump called Judge Curiel a “hater” and said that his ruling against Trump was based on the fact that he was Hispanic. [Image by U.S. District Court/AP Images] The Ninth Circuit of Appeals is a legal avenue also available to Sherri Simpson, should Judge Curiel not rule in her favor. Donald Trump does not have an amicable relationship with that court either, after having called the judges “so-called” judges when they ruled against his travel ban earlier this year. Sherri’s attorney says that Trump “will have a decision to make.” New York Daily News reports that he said the following. “We think the judge will rule for us. Then the question is, do the defendants want to blow up the whole deal and go to trial, or do they want to hold on to the deal and allow some number of opt outs.” If Judge Curiel allows Sherri Simpson’s case to move forward individually, there are potential ramifications for others in the class-action. The $25 million settlement, which has not yet been paid to the victims, could be delayed. Politico reports that the entire Trump University settlement could be called into question. Politico also reports that Sherri Simpson isn’t the only victim of the business known as Trump University that has opted out of the settlement. Thirteen other former consumers of the business have opted out and may still bring individual suits against President Trump. [Image by Gregory Bull/AP Images] Politico reports on another student, Harold Doe, who also wants to opt out now. He is suing for $35,000 but believes he should be entitled to at least three times that much in punitive damages and pain and suffering. “I was homeless with my family because of Trump and Trump University. Although I’m submitting a claim for thirty-five thousand dollars I spent on that so-called class I would appreciate being awarded the three times that amount for the suffering that my family and I had to endure as a direct result of Trump and Trump University.” Former consumers were given an opportunity to opt out of the class action in 2015, and that was the last opportunity they were given. Sherri’s attorney said that at that time, the case was “barreling towards trial” and the plaintiffs were “obtaining excellent results” in court. They did not know that would be their last opportunity to opt out of the lawsuit. In this video, CNN interviews a former instructor of Trump University, who brags at the open of the interview that it was his job to “reel them in, sign them up, and get them to spend money.” When he is asked about his real estate experience, he is reminded by CNN that in a California court transcript, he testified that he has homes in Beverly Hills, Atlanta, and all over America. He confirms this to be true to CNN, that he does have those homes and real estate prowess. But when asked by CNN why they couldn’t find any information to verify those homes, he shuts down in the interview saying, “I’m not going to answer questions about that because I haven’t seen that.” But it was his own testimony and his own alleged homes that CNN was asking him about. When asked what he knew about real estate he said, “Again, I’m not prepared to answer those questions today, this is about Trump University.” But, Trump University alleges that it is a course on real estate investment. This latest development for the business known as Trump University is not good news for Donald Trump. As the Inquisitr previously reported, presidents can be impeached for actions taken prior to taking the oath of office, and University of Utah professor Christopher Peterson says that fraud and racketeering could be a “high crime” that is a required qualifier for impeachment. But that’s not Donald Trump’s only problem. If Sherri Simpson is successful in opting out of the class-action Trump University claim and proceeds to trial successfully, she sets a precedent for thousands of other former consumers of Trump University expressing dissatisfaction. Although presidents are under immunity for some civil lawsuits, they are only immune from lawsuits that pertain to activities related to their direct duties as president. Donald Trump would not be immune from lawsuits related to Trump University. Additionally, precedent has been set that at least one previous president was sued civilly. That precedent was set by the husband to Donald Trump’s personal counselor, Kellyanne Conway. Kellyanne Conway’s husband George Conway was the lead attorney representing Paula Jones in the civil case against President Clinton, reports Mother Jones. Donald Trump, and all Americans, can thank Kellyanne Conway’s husband George Conway for setting the precedent to sue a sitting president civilly. Whether Sherri Simpson will get her day in court against the president on her Trump University case remains to be seen. Judge Curiel has set a date of March 30 to hear arguments on the fairness of the objection. [Featured Image by Bebeto Matthews/AP Images]
