Danny Salazar named Eastern League player of the Week and Aeros Roster Moves

The Eastern league (AA) announced on Monday that Akron Aeros starter Danny Salazar has been named the Easter league Pitcher of the Week, for the week of April 29 – May 5.

Salazar made one start for Akron this week. The right – handed starter pitched 6 shut – out innings, striking out a career high 12 batters. Akron would go on to beat Altoona 4 – 1. Salazar would be perfect through the first four innings before giving up a leadoff single in the fifth inning.

The Aeros right hander is among the weekly league leaders in ERA, 0.00 (T- 1st), batting average against .056 (2nd), WHIP 0.50 (3rd) and strikeouts 12 (T – 3rd).

Aeros RHP Brett Brach was promoted from AA Akron to AAA Columbus on May 6.
INF Justin Toole was assigned to AA Akron from AAA Columbus on May 6.
Aeros 2B Jose Ramirez was placed on the 7 day disabled list with a hip flexor.
